Lietuvos Liaudies Buities Muziejus, or the Museum of Lithuanian Folk Life and Crafts, is a museum located in Rumsiskes, about 25 kilometers away from Kaunas. The museum was established in 1966 and is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the country's traditional rural way of life and handicrafts. The museum covers an area of around 195 hectares and includes an open-air exhibition of authentic farmsteads and buildings, a gallery of folk costumes, and a collection of ethnographic objects.
Visitors to the museum can explore the traditional wooden houses, barns, and other buildings that have been transported to the site from different regions of Lithuania. They can also learn about the traditional Lithuanian way of life, including crafts such as weaving, pottery, and woodcarving, as well as customs and beliefs related to marriage, childbirth, and death.
The museum also hosts various cultural events and festivals throughout the year, such as the Midsummer Festival and the Harvest Festival, which provide visitors with an opportunity to experience traditional Lithuanian music, dance, and food.
