The Ninth Fort, part of the Kaunas Fortress in Lithuania, has a dark history. Initially built as a stronghold in the late 19th century, it later served as a prison during the Soviet occupation and became a site of mass murder during the Nazi regime. Thousands of Jews and other prisoners were executed there. Today, the Ninth Fort stands as a memorial to the victims of these atrocities, with a museum showcasing the chilling past of this once-feared stronghold
