The Lithuanian Museum of Ancient Beekeeping is an exciting place to explore the history of beekeeping in Lithuania. Established in 1984, near Stripeikiai in northeastern Lithuania, it contains six buildings and over 500 displays, including sculptures carved by Teofilis Patiejūnas and Ipolitas Užkurnis. Glass-sided beehives allow visitors to watch bees work, while tool collections and illustrations illustrate how bees play a vital role in pollination. The museum pays tribute to the significance of honeybees in worldwide mythology, folklore and culture. Along with all this, every August there is a festive Honey Harvest festival, complete with a 'Honey Bar' for tasting local honey specialties. It's a unique opportunity to learn more about Lithuania's rich heritage!
