Panemunė Castle is a beautiful 16th century castle located in Vytėnai, Lithuania. Built for one of the nation's most famous Hungarian nobleman Janos Eperjes, it is an impressive mixture of pre-Classicism and Classicism architecture, with tall fortified walls surrounding the estate grounds. "Panemunė" means "along the Nemunas", referring to the nearby river. Inside the castle are stunning Renaissance-era frescos and decorations made by Vilnius Art Academy, adding to the overall splendor of the place. Visitors can take guided tours through the interior of the castle, and admire the magnificent view that opens from the castle tower. With cascading ponds surrounding the castle, it is truly a sight to behold!
