Surrounded by vast wilderness that hides a treasure trove of amazing hiking routes, muskox herds, ancient archaeological sites, impressive glaciers, and the spectacular Disko Bay with its countless whales and iceberg formations the size of cathedrals, Qasigiannguit offers a unique glimpse into everyday life in Greenland from centuries ago.

It is home to the "Living Village Project," where museum volunteers work year-round to revive and perfect the skills their ancestors used to survive Greenland's harsh climate. These traditions come to life through summer demonstrations and reenactments, which are the focal point of this otherwise modern town.
