Waterfall
Litlanesfoss is a two-tier waterfall located in east Iceland that stands at 30 metres tall. This special waterfall gets its name (Stuðlabergsfoss) from the impressive hexagonal basalt columns it cascades over - some of which reach up to twenty metres each. On a clear day, you can even view the red layers of clay offset by ash strips - evidence of volcanoes from centuries past. Located near Egilsstaðir and Lake Lagarfljót, Litlanesfoss Waterfall is a fun and interesting stop on your Icelandic self drive tour. There are plenty of other attractions nearby such as Hengifoss, the third tallest waterfall in the country which offers a calming, easy hike where you'll get to truly appreciate the stunning Icelandic scenery.
