Godafoss means : The Waterfall of the Gods. Goðafoss is one of Iceland's most famous waterfalls. It is located in the Mývatn region, on the Skjálfandafljót river and is 12 meters high and 30 meters wide. this spectacular waterfall surprises more for its beauty rather than its power.

How to get to Godafoss ? From Husavik, just head south, until you reach the outskirts. Godafoss is only 5 min from the junction. Once there, you will see that the falls are easily accessible from either side. The east side offers the best photographic views, with the added bonus of a good panoramic view of Geitafoss, Godafoss's little sister. On the other hand, the west side allows to reach the edge of the falls itself; but in the absence of car parks, this side is less frequented by tourists.
