Laugarvatnsvellir is a unique historical and cultural site located in Iceland. This destination was once the home to two families who lived in Laugarvatnshellir Cave, the biggest man-made cave in the region. The area is full of interesting stories and legends; an elf-lady reportedly stuck around to look after one of the couple's children! Today, visitors can explore the cave on guided tours and learn more about the lives these "Cave People" led. There is also a cafe in the cave where travelers can enjoy coffee, cakes, and skyr while learning more about the local history. Not to be missed on a trip to Iceland, Laugarvatnsvellir offers a unique and amazing experience that will stay with you forever.
