Skógafoss, which literally means "forest falls". Skogafoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland and one of the major tourist sites in the south of the country. It is formed by the Skóga River and originates from the Fimmvörðuháls pass and the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers. you can see Skogafoss from afar when you pass on the circular road and it is a must for all tourists visiting the south of Iceland. Skógafoss sometimes lets a beautiful rainbow appear in front of her. From the car park, a walk of a few hundred meters leads to the foot of the waterfall. The waterfall is magnificent and can also be photographed from afar. It is possible to approach very close to the fall but it projects a lot of mist and water droplets, which is not practical at all for taking a picture. It is recommended winter and summer to bring waterproof clothing to approach the fall.
