Orbis et Globus is an impressive artwork in North Iceland situated at the Arctic Circle in Grímsey island. Every year, it is moved to reflect the changing location of the Arctic Circle, quickly having become an iconic landmark for visitors from all around the world. Although the island's population is less than 100 people, this dynamic art installation has increased its popularity and made it a must-stop during trips to North Iceland. The artwork is approximately 3 km from the port and 2.5 km from the airport, so visitors should make sure to stay on the island for some time to explore all that it has to offer - including visiting the Fiske monument, exploring old fishing huts with stunning basalt columns, bird watching from April till August, and of course, stepping past the artwork Orbis et Globus into the Arctic Circle itself.
