The Arcos da Lapa, also known as the Lapa Aqueduct, is a historic landmark in Rio de Janeiro that dates back to the 18th century. Originally built as an aqueduct to carry water to downtown Rio, the arches now serve as a picturesque backdrop for the bonde cable car.

The aqueduct sits in the center of the Lapa neighborhood, known as a great place for enjoying the nightlife in Rio.
