Ubud is pretty much the cultural hub, as well as yoga & spirituality hub of Bali! It's the only very popular area that's actually inland and not on the coast, so it's surrounded by jungle and rice fields, which make it quite unique in comparison to the other areas.
It's known for its vibrant arts and culture scene, with cute streets, lots of temples and history, museums, spas and yoga retreats, it's a sort of tranquil spot in the jungly heart of Bali!
It's also where the Monkey Forest that everyone visits is! As well as being very close (20 mins) to the Tegallalang Rice Fields, and Alas Harum where people do luwak coffee and tea tasting. Equally, it probably has the closest proximity to the most waterfalls!
It's definitely a very up and coming area, and admittedly when we first visited almost 3 years ago, we didn't really enjoy it that much, because we didn't know what to do there, but there's actually so much cool stuff to do in Ubud if you know! So check out our map to find out!
