San Marco di Castellabate is a charming fishing port town nestled in the Cilento National Park, boasting a mix of ancient Roman and Greek history. The town is quite small and mostly residential, but during the summer you'll still find a few things to do.

It has some amazing restaurants and bars, perfect if you want to try the local food and enjoy a drink after.

This is the town where I spend every summer, and I'm originally from, and I still have all my relatives here. I have a special bond with this place, and sometimes I give it for granted. Once I grew up, I realised how fortunate I am to call this place a second home.

In San Marco, you can find the ruins of the ancient Greek-Roman Port, a small 14th-century church and incredible views over the Cilento Coast.

If you visit during the summer, go to Grotta Beach, which is my favourite. It's quite small and gets crowded fast, but if you go around 8 am you'll find the best spot. An alternative is the much larger beach of Pozzillo, but I don't like the fact that you have to walk a lot in the water to reach a point where you can't touch. It's still beautiful though, as from here you can see Castellabate, the town of the hill.

I highly recommend Zagreus, it's the most popular bar in town and many people from neighbouring towns come here for a drink and some delicious food. I recommend trying their Aperol Spritz and their great selection of wines, make sure to ask for recommendations as they will help you choose the perfect wine for you.

The best gelato place is Baurú, they have so many tasty different flavours that change daily.

In San Marco, you can also find the 'Approdo Resort Thalasso', a spa where you can relax for hours and enjoy all the benefits of thalasso therapy.
