Since its development in 1536, this iconic square has captivated visitors with its impressive design and features. Commissioned by Pope Paul III and designed by Michelangelo, the square is characterized by a beautiful bronze equestrian statue of Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius at its centerpiece.
