Discover Ischia's most famous landmarks, the Castello Aragonese. Get to know the history of this gorgeous fortress and enjoy stunning views over the island.
The Aragonese Castle is located in the town of Ischia Ponte, one of the largest towns on the island. You can reach the castle from Ischia Porto (where the ferry arrives) with a bus or a 30 minutes walk. What I'd recommend is to walk, so you get to explore the towns of Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte on your way to the castle.
You can get the tickets directly at the ticket office at the entrance of the castle. There's no need to book them online as you likely won't have to queue. I'd probably consider booking online only if you visit on the weekend in August, otherwise you should be fine.
The ticket is €12 adult / €10 reduced.
I found the layout of the visit very easy to navigate. There are recommendations on which path to take, and I followed the numerical order starting at point 1 and ending at around point 25/26. This way you can be sure you're not missing anything and get to enjoy all of castle's beauty and views.
There's a bar where you can get coffee with an incredible view (make sure to bring some cash as they didn't accept card).
Shared a lot of photos to you an idea of how the castle looks like and the views you can see from it. It took me about 3 hours to explore everything, but unless you won't stop reading or taking photos of everything like I do, you should consider staying here for about 1:30/2 hours.
(!) I consider it a must visit in Ischia :)
