The Parco Archeologico di Velia is an ancient archaeological site in southern Italy, located in the region of Campania. Once known as Elea, it was a thriving Greek city renowned for its influential philosophical school, the Eleatic School, founded by Parmenides.

The park showcases a rich array of ruins, including city walls, gates, temples, and residential buildings, all set in a scenic coastal landscape. Velia's historical significance and well-preserved structures make it a captivating destination for those interested in ancient Greek and Roman history.

You can purchase the tickets on site or online (with 1.50€ booking fee), the price for the adult ticket is €15. Aside from the visit to the Archeological Park of Velia, the ticket includes the Archeological Park of Paestum and its museum. It's a great way to discover the history of the area through some of its most ancient sites. The validity of the ticket is 3 days, so you have plenty of time to visit both. They are not close though and to reach Velia, having a car is recommended.
