Piazza del Plebiscito is a large public square located in the heart of Naples, Italy. This iconic, Neoclassical-style square was dedicated to the plebiscite that brought Naples into the unified Kingdom of Italy under the House of Savoy. The piazza is framed by the Royal Palace on the east and the San Francesco di Paola church featuring its celebrated twin colonnades extending to each side on the west. Home to a variety of cultural events such as open-air concerts from renowned artists like Elton John and Bruce Springsteen - as well as many amazing regal buildings and monuments - Piazza del Plebiscito is an unmissable sight and one of the most popular attractions for visitors.
The piazza is stunning however around the colonnade is not very well-preserved. It's smell a lot and it's very dirty, so be prepared for that. But make sure to enter the Church of San Francesco di Paola anyway, is well worth the visit inside.
