Geothermal wonders in Iceland

Message from Misha Martin

Gunnuhver Hot Springs, located in Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula, is a unique and fascinating geothermal area known for its boiling mud pools and steam vents. The largest mud pool in Iceland, Gunnuhver is surrounded by a surreal landscape of lava fields, craters, and bird cliffs. The name "Gunnuhver" comes from a haunting story about a woman named Gunna who was believed to be a witch and met a tragic end. Visitors can experience the power of nature at Gunnuhver, but should also be cautious of the boiling water and steam.
