Kato Lako Beach is a hidden gem on Karpathos, accessible only by foot or boat. It's a small, quiet spot with pebbly shores and crystal-clear waters perfect for a relaxing day in the sun. It's usually quiet around this beach because you can only get here by private boat or on foot.

What many people don't know however is the cave that is located on this beach. Before you can visit the cave you'll have to access the beach first. To do this you can park your car here. Please don't drive down, you won't be able to drive back up.

After you've parked your car you can walk the path down to the beach. The hike will take about 20 minutes. The outward journey is not too bad because you walk downhill, but bear in mind that the return journey is a lot heavier. Make sure you have enough water and a cap to protect you from the sun.

When you've reached the beach you can decide if you want to relax right there for a bit or you can go straight to the cave. The cave is on the very far left of this beach (if you look towards the sea). It takes about 15 minutes to get to the cave.

P.S. Don't forget to pack some snacks and drinks, as there are no facilities on this secluded beach. Also, you can walk this on steady sandals (Teva's for example) or sneakers, but please don't do this on flip-flops!
