When is wet and dry season?
The best time to travel to Peru is during the dry season, typically from May to September when the weather is clear, sunny, and ideal for trekking, especially around Machu Picchu, with the shoulder months of April and October offering a good balance between good weather and smaller crowds.
Peak crowds: June, July, and August are the most crowded months due to ideal weather.
Shoulder seasons (best balance): April, May, September, and October offer good weather with fewer crowds.
Rainy season: November to March experiences the most rain, but also has the lowest tourist numbers.
