The Cadaval Palace Chapel is an incredibly beautifully restored private church for the Ducal Cadaval family.
The Cadaval Palace is a stunning example of Portuguese architectural heritage, situated in the historical city of Évora. Built on the ruins of a Moorish Castle in the 14th century, the palace has been lovingly restored to its previous splendour. It serves as the ancestral home and property of the Dukes of Cadaval family and was even used as temporary royal residence for Dom João II, Dom João IV and Dom João V. Visitors can now explore the beautiful rooms with gothic ribbed vaulting and stunning azulejo tile panels, or visit the magnificent Church of Saint John the Evangelist which includes a canopy-shaped tombstone with the foundation date and coat of arms of its founder. With its astonishing beauty, the Cadaval Palace is not to be missed!
