Wat Phra Nang Sang
This unusual wat is 200 years old, the oldest in Phuket, built when the main city of Phuket was located in Thalang. It seems to be permanently under construction.
Wat Phra Nang Sang, located in Thalang, is a unique temple with over 200 years of history. It was built by the legendary Lady Luad Khao, the spouse of the ruler of Nakhon Si Thammarat, who was condemned to death for her love affair. The temple is renowned for its three ancient Buddha images called Phra Nai Phung and Phra Sam Kasat and a small reclining Buddha. In 2018, the entire temple underwent a renovation and all the strange statues were replaced with true Buddhist temples, chedi, and back buildings that were repainted and cleaned. An interesting legend about the lady's white blood also lives on. Wat Phra Nang Sang still remains an eerie and mysterious place to visit with its ancient artifacts and urban legends, and it never fails to amaze visitors from all over the world.
