Detian waterfall is over 200m wide and it is quite the sight.

China on one side and Vietnam on the other, it's a great place to see just how small some of these borders really are.

What makes the waterfall so impressive though are the layers... and the background. The waterfall is about 3 layers deep and, with the karst mountains in the background, it's a bit like if someone put "incredible waterfall in nature" into ChatGPT.

Now then, technically? No. Officially? No.

In practice though? Yeah there are ways to get away with it.

You didn't hear this from me but go super early before the crowds show up, find a nice quiet spot as far away from people and aim to be up and down in as few minutes as possible.

Getting to Detian Waterfall

Detian waterfall is in Chongzuo county and, despite it being a popular spot, it's not that easy to get to.

While there is a daily bus that heads from Finagling Bus Tration next to Nanning East Railway Station, it takes 3.5 hours and there's only one back at 4pm.

My suggestion is to get to Nanning and rent a car. It's a relatively easy drive along the highway.
