Ruakuri Cave is one of the most breath-taking natural wonders Waitomo has to offer. With its spiralling pathways and smooth undulating passages, it's become famous as the Southern Hemisphere's only wheelchair accessible cave system. Maori legend tells us that this incredible site was discovered over 500 years ago by a young hunter on his search for birds.
