This is an awesome photo spot for sunrise or sunset, feels like you've truly teleported to another planet surrounded by stark grey alien terrain. You can camp here, drive through the road for some epic views, and we love to just let the dogs run around here as theres just so much open land. Its a popular atv/ dirtbike spot- so watch out for that with your dogs, we've seen big horned sheep here as well. Awesome spot to chill, relax, drone, and camp with plenty of room to yourself.

BLM dispersed camping area along road NP230. This site is at the base of a mountain and has a boulder field. Right across the road is a canyon that is beautiful and should be hiked. Don’t go off the main road if it is wet, ground is soft and 99% you’ll get stuck. Wiregrass Canyon Trailhead is right nearby off of Smoky Mountain road and is an awesome dog friendly trail close to where you can camp. This sandy wash takes you through a small canyon and requires some scrambling and detours. Look for cairns (small stacks of rocks that act as trail markers) to lead you out. Wayfinding required. Use caution in extreme heat and avoid hiking during the hottest part of the day. There is always a potential for flash floods. Do not hike when there is potential for flash floods. 

When planning to travel on backroads, especially during or after rain, it's advisable to exercise caution, be prepared for changing conditions, and, if possible, choose a vehicle with suitable off-road capabilities. Always prioritize safety, and if road conditions seem questionable, consider delaying your trip or choosing alternative routes.

Practice Leave No Trace when camping, ensuring minimal impact on the environment. Pack out all waste, stick to established trails, and leave nature as you found it, preserving the wilderness for others to enjoy.
