Malaria is present in Tanzania and many areas are classed as a 'high risk zone', therefore you may require to take medication for your trip. Some anti-malaria medication has to be started in the days prior to your trip and continued after you have returned home, so make sure you speak to your Doctor in plenty of time.
Zika Virus Risk
Tanzania has also been recognized as having a Zika Risk. Speak to your Doctor about what this means and any precautions you may need to take. This is ESPECIALLY important if you are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant, for all genders within the relationship.
Dengue Fever Risk
Tanzania has also been recognized as having Dengue Fever, a severe flu-like illness that spreads through mosquito bites.
Altitude Risk
There are a number of areas that are situated within high altitude of Tanzania. If you are planning on hiking Mount Kilimanjaro we would advise you speak to your Doctor about the risks of Altitude sickness.
