bericht van Roberto Luigi Pagani

Helgafell is a mountain located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland that stands at an impressive 73-metre (240ft) high. It is known as the 'Holy Mountain' and acts as a temple to Thor, having been built by the first settler of the area; Þórólfr Mostrarskegg. It also has a strong literary connection due to being featured in the Laxdæla saga as the final resting place of heroine Guðrún Ósvífrsdóttir. It was also the site of an important medieval monastery, which was also a centre of book production. With its striking visuals and rich history, Helgafell makes for an engrossing and interesting visit sure to fascinate travelers seeking adventure.
