Glass Beach, located in MacKerricher State Park in Fort Bragg, California, is a phenomenon that has become a popular tourist destination. This beach is renowned for the unique sea glass found in its coves, which have been tumbled by the ocean and polished over time to create a beautiful sheen. Many colors of glass can be discovered here, including green, brown, clear, lavender, pink, red, blue, and even uranium-rich yellow, along with rare finds such as Vaseline glass, Fire glass, and gem-like shaders. However, over time as more and more people have visited this beach, and taken glass away from the beach, the glass is much harder to find, especially during higher tides.

The International Sea Glass Museum just north of Mendocino offers an opportunity to learn more about this unique experience while browsing displays of different types of glass, including rare stoppers and handle pieces. Exploring the area can also include stretches along the multi-use trail through MacKerricher and along the picturesque Pudding Creek Beach or crossing around the point to Old Haul Road Beach. For an unforgettable experience, those who venture out to Glass Beach won't be disappointed by all this unique beach has to give.
