The Northface Trail in Mürren, Switzerland offers a picturesque loop hike with stunning mountain views, charming hamlets, and flower-filled meadows. The trail is known for its gentle slopes, and diverse scenery, making it ideal for hikers of all skill levels.

The loop trail begins at Allmendhubel, accessible by funicular from Mürren (there is the option to walk up the service road for a more strenuous start).

💦Top tip: Visit Sprutz Waterfall

A highlight of the North Face Trail is the optional detour to the Sprutz Waterfall, a unique spot where you can actually walk behind the cascading water for a refreshing experience.

The trail finishes back in Mürren, but another option is to extend the hike to nearby Gimmelwald and take the cable car back.

🚋Allmendhubel – Start your journey by taking the funicular up to Allmendhubel, where you can enjoy 360-degree views of the iconic Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks. Allmendhubel also has an incredible playground for families and a mountain restaurant, making it an excellent place to begin or end your hike.

🏚️Traditional Swiss mountain huts are dotted along the trail , like those at Suppenalp and Spilboden. Many of these huts offer classic Swiss dishes like cheese fondue or rosti, where you can enjoy a meal with a view.

📸Panoramic Viewpoints – Along the trail, there are lots of lookout points offering sweeping views of the valleys and peaks surrounding Mürren. The descent towards Mürren or Gimmelwald is especially scenic, with uninterrupted views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Keep your camera close by! You will love it😍

🐮Gimmelwald –It you are interested in a longer hike, extending the route to the picturesque village of Gimmelwald is definitely worthwhile. From here, you can take the cable car back to Mürren or Stechelberg.
