bericht van Tartan Viking

Balvenie Castle, located in Scotland, was originally built in the 12th century by the powerful Comyn family. It underwent extensions and alterations in the 15th and 16th centuries but fell into disuse after an attack by Robert the Bruce in 1308. The castle passed through various hands, including the Black Douglases, before being abandoned in 1718. Today, it is managed as a scheduled monument by Historic Environment Scotland and is open to the public from April to September. Plus, fun fact: Balvenie whisky is produced nearby at the Balvenie distillery!
