bericht van Tartan Viking

Laggan Dam, located in the Scottish Highlands, was built in 1934 as part of the Lochaber hydroelectric scheme by Balfour Beatty for the British Aluminium Company. The dam is about 700 feet long and 48 meters high, with a curved design that functions as a gravity dam. It has a reservoir capacity of 40 million cubic meters and channels water to Loch Treig through tunnels before reaching a power house at Fort William. The dam, now a Category A listed building, can be seen next to the A86 road from Fort William.
