The Ikebukuro Life Safety Learning Center, also known as Ikebukuro Bōsai-kan, is a disaster preparedness center run by the Tokyo Fire Department. It's a place where you can experience earthquake simulations, fire evacuation drills, and first aid training, all designed to teach you how to respond in emergencies like earthquakes and fires — very relevant in Japan.
Earthquake Simulation: Experience what a real earthquake feels like (up to level 7 on the Japanese seismic scale) and learn how to protect yourself.
Fire Evacuation Simulation: Practice escaping from a smoke-filled room to learn how to evacuate safely in case of a fire.
First Aid Training: Basic lessons on CPR and how to help others during emergencies.
Disaster Preparedness Videos and Exhibits: Learn about Japan’s disaster history and tips for staying safe.
