Scenic rocky trail in Girona

Under the lighthouse of Cap de Creus, we find a geographical feature formed by the erosion of the sea on the rock, which is both a gift to the landscape and a curious element. The Cova de l’Infern or de s’Infern is a sea cave, a passageway, or tunnel, as it is open to the sea on two sides, offering an impressive sight, like its name, which seems to be due to the reddish color that the water inside turns with the first rays of sunrise, simulating a "gate to hell". 🔥🌊

We can access the Cova de s’Infern by following pedestrian route number 15 (geological) of the Natural Park. Just 15 minutes of walking from the base of the lighthouse on a perfectly marked route (remember that there is an information point at the lighthouse where they offer maps to explore the surroundings). 🚶‍♂️🗺️

The cave is also frequently visited from the sea in kayak-type boats, which allows for swimming if the sea conditions permit it. Pay attention to the seabed near the cave if you practice snorkeling; they are full of details to observe! 🚣‍♂️🐠
