Ingjaldshóll is a historic site located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in West Iceland. It used to be a settlement manor and an assembly, where important officials lived back in the day. The place has a rich history, once belonging to the powerful Sturlunga Clan and later to the monastery at Helgafell. The church at Ingjaldshóll was once one of the largest in Iceland and is now the oldest concrete church in the world. It's also home to a monument dedicated to Eggert Ólafsson and his wife Ingibjörg Guðmundsdóttir, who tragically drowned during a storm. Christopher Columbus is said to have stayed here during his preparations for his own journey west. Overall, Ingjaldshóll is a fascinating spot that offers a glimpse into Iceland's past.
