Krossá is the most famous river crossing of Iceland. Every year it will sweep a few cars away and sometimes even large buses, so drive carefully and always talk to the locals at Volcano Huts before crossing. They will tell you if it's safe or not. Also make sure you know how to cross rivers, this river is deep and strong!

You may also book a ticket on the river bus with stops at Hvolsvöllur, Brú Base Camp (near Seljalandsfoss), and Þórsmörk. Booking a ticket on the river bus will allow you to visit and hike the Þórsmörk area as a day or overnight trip, staying at Volcano Huts.
