Parking / Track:
Princhester Road is a gravel road through farmland with gates to open. This hut is at the very end of the road. While it might be a 2wd road the whole way, sometime it's a little rough for a low clearance 2WD to get all the way to the hut itself. In this case just park at the edge of the conservation land - still close just avoids getting stuck!
Hut:
The hut is a standard NZFS S70 6-bunk hut. Being along the Te Araroa trail it can be busy, but there is plenty of tenting space around - just the spots do have a few tree roots underneath.
Lovely creek passes through next to the hut too.
Recommendations:
We actually sometimes use this as a cheap way to stay the night near Te Anau when we're in the area. Just make sure you've got a tent with incase it's busy.
