The Grand Bazaar of Istanbul. My. favourite. place.
There is something for everyone in the Grand Bazaar. And if you are into photography and filmmaking, you will never want to leave.
This historic covered market that dates back to the mid-15th century features over 4,000 shops spread across 30,700 square meters and is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. It attracts between 250,000 and 400,000 visitors each day and has been listed as the world's most visited tourist attraction. Inside, there are hundreds of lanes of all sorts of goods and services including jewelry, clothing, textiles, spices, carpets, fruits, and more. Tourists and locals alike find the bazaar a fascinating experience and it is renowned for its lively atmosphere and unique shopping experiences.
You will find some really unique pieces here. My advice? Go to the old section, its much more interesting and youwill find the most unique shops and amazing people. Don't be afraid to chat to the vendors, they have lots of interesting stories.
