BUS:

If you want to experience a more adventurous and economical trip to Mexico you can use the efficient public transport.

ADO buses are the most famous, comfortable and air-conditioned and connect virtually all Mexican cities. You can book the ticket directly online on their website (there are usually lots of offers according to the schedules).

The ADO has two different types of coaches: first class coaches with reclining seats and all the comforts such as a plane trip, or second class coaches with less comfortable but still good seats.

COLLECTIVOS:

Alternatively, for short trips you can use collectivos to share with other travelers or, more likely, with locals. They are usually vans from 7 to 9 seats and do not have fixed departure times, but leave when they fill up. So you won't have to have programs if you decide to use them. I have taken them on several occasions and it was fun: you get off by communicating to the driver the desired stop. A journey in the journey. Remember, payment is CASH only!

TAXI:

Nissan and other Japanese models are to be avoided because of the risk of aggression. If you have to stop a taxi on the street, check that it has the license plate; the number begins with the letter L, which stands for libre (free), and at the base there is a green stripe.

PRACTICAL INFO ABOUT OAXACA:

If you come by bus you will definitely arrive at ADO Terminal, not really the best place to wander on foot. To go to the center, just take one of the yellow tai Unfortunately there is no taximeter, so ask for the price before entering (usually 70 pesos). Small tip: if you travel solo, make friends with tourists and so you can split the expenses as I did.

Se vuoi vivere un viaggio in Messico più avventuroso ed economico puoi utilizzare gli efficienti mezzi di trasporto pubblici.

I pullman della ADO sono i più famosi, comodi e dotati di aria condizionata e collegano praticamente tutte le città messicane. Puoi prenotare il biglietto direttamente online sul loro sito (solitamente ci sono tantissime offerte in base agli orari).

La ADO ha due tipologie diverse di pullman: pullman di prima classe con sedili reclinabili e tutti i comfort come un viaggio in aereo, oppure pullman di seconda classe con sedili meno comodi ma comunque buoni.

COLLECTIVOS:

In alternativa, per gli spostamenti brevi puoi usare i collectivos da condividere con altri viaggiatori o, più probabilmente, con la gente del posto. Solitamente sono furgoncini dai 7 ai 9 posti e non hanno orari fissi di partenza, ma partono quando si riempiono. Perciò non dovrai avere programmi se deciderai di utilizzarli. Io li ho presi in più occasioni ed è stato divertente: si scende comunicando al conducente la fermata desiderata. Un viaggio nel viaggio. Ricorda, il pagamento è solo in CONTANTI!

TAXI:

Nissan e altri modelli giapponesi sono da evitare per il rischio di aggressione. Se devi fermare un taxi per strada, controlla che abbia la targa della licenza; il numero inizia con la lettera L, che sta per libre (libero), e alla base c'è una striscia verde.

INFO PRATICHE SU OAXACA:

• Se vieni in autobus arriverai sicuramente al Terminal ADO, non proprio il miglior posto per girovagare a piedi. Per andare in centro, basta prendere uno dei taxi gialli e non quello rosso utilizzato per raggiungere i paesi limitrofi. Purtroppo non c’è un tassametro, quindi chiedi il prezzo prima di entrare (solitamente 70 pesos). Piccolo consiglio: se viaggi in solitaria, fai amicizia con i turisti e così potrai dividere le spese come ho fatto io.

• Se vieni in aereo, per raggiungere il centro città o viceversa, si può prendere un taxi (200 pesos) o un colectivo (piccolo pulmino condiviso, anche se non è così efficiente), ma occhio al traffico nelle ore di punta.
