The country of yesterday and today: curiosity 🇮🇹 Il paese di ieri e di oggi: curiosià

History:

• The heyday of science and culture in this region fell in the 14th century, when Tamerlane was its ruler.

• In the 1800s, women of Tajiks and Uzbek Muslims were obliged to wear the paranja or Burqua in Arabic when outside the home.

• From 1930 until 1990 it belonged to the USSR.

• During the dictatorship (until 2016) citizens could buy escusilively cars that were manufactured within the state: Chevrolet. Now the market has changed. PS: Why does almost everyone own a white car? Simple: to protect themselves from the heat.

• Karimov, an extremely controversial and at times dictatorial figure, who held the country in check for many years by restricting certain freedoms including press freedom (access to the country was almost forbidden to international journalists)

Some time ago this country was closed to the world, but now fortunately the country is open to the whole world.

Interesting fact:

• Tea is sipped several times throughout the day, after every meal and at any conversation. The tea is poured into a small pebble and put back into the teapot 3 times as per tradition to blend the flavors.

• Uzbek proverb: "Three things man never tires of looking at: water, fire and the bazaar."

• Although Uzbekistan is a secular country, 90 percent of the population is Muslim. Extremist religious expressions are strongly discouraged by the government so the burka is banned. Uzbek women usually wear a headscarf or veil to cover their hair but the same is not required of female visitors (as is the case in Iran). That said, it is always essential to respect the local culture by choosing appropriate clothing. It is good observance to have the legs from the knees up covered as well as the shoulders. There is no religion in School.

• Consider that 40 percent of the population is under 30 years old.

• The youngest child has to stay with the parents to take care of them, and even when he or she gets married he or she continues to live in the parental home. Many marriages are arranged well in advance. Women still have very few rights in marriage, about 600 guests and anyone can show up for free.

• Il periodo di massimo splendore della scienza e della cultura di questa regione cadde nel XIV secolo, quando Tamerlano era il suo sovrano.

• Nel 1800, le donne dei tagiki e dei musulmani uzbeki erano obbligate a indossare il paranja o Burqua in arabo quando erano fuori casa.

• Dal 1930 fino al 1990 apparteneva all' URSS.

• Durante la dittatura (fino al 2016) i cittadini potevano acquistare escusilvamente le auto che venivano fabbricate all'interno dello stato: Chevrolet. Ora il mercato è cambiato. PS: Perché quasi tutte possiedono un auto bianca? Semplice: per proteggersi dal calore.

• Karimov, figura estremamente controversa e a tratti dittatoriale, che ha tenuto in scacco il paese per molti anni limitando alcune libertà tra cui quella di stampa (l’accesso al paese era quasi vietato ai giornalisti internazionali)

• Qualche tempo fa questo paese era chiuso al mondo, ma ora fortunatamente il paese è aperto al mondo intero.

PENSATE CHE IN UZBEKISTAN ARRIVANO MOLTE DONNE IRANIANE E DEGLI ALTRI PAESI CONFINANTI MUSSULMANI PER BALLARE, DIVERTIRSI, BERE E TOGLIERSI IL VELO.

Curiosità:

• Il tè si sorseggia più volte durante la giornata, dopo ogni pasto e in occasione di qualunque conversazione. Il tè viene versato in una ciottolina e rimesso nella teiera per 3 volte come da tradizione per fondere i sapori.

• Proverbio uzbeko: “Tre cose l’uomo non si stanca mai di guardare: l’acqua, il fuoco e il bazar”.

• Scarica l'app Verum QR. Dalla metà del 2019 tutti i siti dispongono di un codice QR che fornisce informazioni sull'oggetto (come una sorta di guida gratuita)

• Nonostante l’Uzbekistan sia un paese laico, il 90% della popolazione è musulmana. Espressioni religiose estremiste sono decisamente scoraggiate dal governo perciò il burka è vietato. Le donne uzbeke solitamente indossano un fazzoletto o velo per coprire i capelli ma lo stesso non è richiesto alle visitatrici (come invece accede per l’Iran). Detto ciò, è sempre fondamentale rispettare la cultura locale scegliendo un abbigliamento adeguato. È buona osservanza avere le gambe dalle ginocchia in su coperte così come le spalle. Non si fa religione a Scuola.

• Considera che il 40% della popolazione ha meno di 30 anni.

• Il figlio più giovane deve stare con i genitori per prendersi cura di loro e anche quando si sposa continua a vivere nella casa dei genitori. Molti matrimoni sono organizzati con largo anticipo. Le donne hanno ancora pochissimi diritti nel matrimonio, circa 600 ospiti e chiunque può presentarsi gratis.

• Pazzi per la musica italiana: in Uzbekistan (e in generale in Russia e nelle Ex Repubbliche sovietiche) adorano la musica italiana anni ’80. In particolare Albano e Romina Power.

• E' uno due paesi al mondo, che per l’accesso alla costa del mare deve attraversare i confini n qualsiasi direzione.

• I nomi di tutti gli stati che circondano l’Uzbekistan terminano in “stan”.

• Gli esperti chiamano l’Uzbekistan uno stato la cui economia sta crescendo più velocemente della maggior parte degli altri paesi del pianeta.
