Visiting the Miawpukek First Nation (MFN) offers a profound and enriching cultural experience. Located at the mouth of the Conne River on Newfoundland's south coast, this community is a center for Mi’kmaq heritage and tradition.

At St. Anne’s School, the curriculum is a unique blend of provincial education standards and Mi’kmaq cultural practices, crafted and delivered by provincially certified MFN teaching staff.

The artistic spirit of the Miawpukek First Nation is palpable, with a community rich in traditional arts and crafts. Explore various artists' studios, meeting painters, moccasin makers, sewers, and ceramicists.

Another highlight is meeting the community’s revered traditional canoe builders. These skilled craftsmen build canoes using the same techniques passed down through generations. .

Held every July, the powwow is a profound celebration of native traditions, featuring the best of native dancing, singing, and drumming.
