The Judería de Córdoba is an area of the Spanish city of Córdoba that was once home to the Jewish population from the 10th to 15th centuries. Today, tourists visit this part of Córdoba to check out its famous monuments, such as the Mezquita-Catedral (Mosque-Cathedral), the Sinagoga (Synagogue), the Zoco Municipal (Municipal Market) and the Museo Taurino (Bull-fighting Museum). During the four years of Umayyad hegemony in Córdoba, the city was a hub for culture, art and commerce and was considered one of the most cultured cities in Europe. Nowadays, visitors can find a bronze statue paying tribute to Maimónides - the great Jewish physician and philosopher - located in the Calle de los Judíos. Whether you're interested in history or want to experience Córdoba's amazing architecture, the Judería de Córdoba is definitely worth the visit!
