bericht van Gianluigi Palomba

Saint Demetrios of Thessaloniki, the beloved patron saint of Greece's second-largest city, was born in 280 AD and died at a young age, most likely around 26. Known for openly showing his Christian faith, he was arrested and executed by Roman Emperor Galerius for his beliefs. His martyrdom sparked a tradition that continues to be celebrated worldwide, with millions honoring his memory on his feast day of October 26.
