bericht van Ian G Black

The City Observatory, located on Calton Hill in Edinburgh, Scotland, was an astronomical observatory that operated from 1776 to 2009. Initially established by Thomas Short as a public observatory, it later became the Royal Observatory before transitioning back to the City Observatory. Over the years, it housed various telescopes and played a crucial role in providing accurate time for navigation. In 2018, the site was restored and transformed into Collective, a contemporary art center, showcasing local and international artists.
