Saint Fillans is a charming village nestled in the central highlands of Scotland, located at the eastern end of Loch Earn. Originally known as Port of Lochearn or Meikleport, it was renamed in 1817 by Lord Gwydyr to honor Clementina Drummond, heiress to the Drummond Estate. The village is home to St Fillan's Chapel and a hydro-electric power station, with the River Earn flowing through its picturesque surroundings. St Fillans became famous in 2005 when a housing development was redesigned to preserve a rock believed to be inhabited by fairies. With its rich history and stunning scenery, St Fillans is a hidden gem waiting to be explored.
