Mizdakhan Necropolis, located in Uzbekistan's Karakalpakstan region, is an ancient burial site dating back to the 4th century BC. Once a bustling city and sacred place believed to be the resting spot of Adam, it eventually fell into ruin after Timur's campaigns in the 14th century. The necropolis features remnants of a fortress, Zoroastrian burial practices, and medieval mausoleums, including the legendary mausoleum associated with Adam where pilgrims add bricks to prevent its collapse. Today, Mizdakhan stands as a fascinating archaeological site blending Zoroastrian and Islamic traditions, offering a glimpse into the region's rich history.
