Krýsuvíkurkirkja is a historic wooden church located in the Krýsuvík area on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Originally built in 1857, it served as a place of worship for the local farming community. After falling into disrepair, the church was restored in 1964 and placed under the protection of the National Museum of Iceland. Tragically, the church was destroyed by fire in 2010. A faithful replica was constructed and installed on-site in 2020, preserving its historical significance and charm. It isn't possible to enter the church.

🚗 Road

The road is paved and generally well-maintained, making it suitable for all vehicles. There's a small gravel parking lot next to the church.

❄️ Winter

The site remains accessible during winter months.

🚻 Facilities

There are no facilities directly at Krýsuvíkurkirkja. The nearest amenities are at Krýsuvík.
