Islands of Madeira with class

Madeira Islands are that type of destinations where it is difficult to have a bad time. Nevertheless, if you want to go beyond the popular approach and get deeper “behind the curtain” local knowledge and years of experience can make the difference. Briefly, this guide is all about that. Touching essential needs for travellers we will also bring up essential rarities in the Island that you can easily miss. Having in mind that Madeira has a lot to do with nature, activities like hiking, adventure, outdoor sports will tend to be a truly important topic in this guide. Even though, Madeira has much more to offer and its 6 centuries of existence are full of cultural richness, traditions and micro-realities. The diversity within this small Island in the Atlantic is considerable. From landscapes, micro-climates, food, vegetation and, of course activities, Madeira can change a lot, making the experience much more interesting and definitely not boring.

Hope you enjoy it

Hey good people!

My name is João. I am from Madeira Island and I have been exploring this beautiful Island since ever. I have a degree in Cultural Studies in Portugal and a Master of Arts in Global Cultures and Creativity in the UK. From sea levet to the highest mountains in the Island I have spent a fair amount of time hiking, exploring forgotten trails, local secrets and, of course, the local culture, history and spots that are genuinely special around the archipelago.

Welcome to the Island!
