Sefton Bivouac, nestled in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park in the Canterbury region, is a historic hut that has been a haven for climbers for generations. It's the oldest hut in the park on its original site and offers stunning views near Te Waewae Glacier. With four bunk beds, this basic bivvy operates on a first-come, first-served basis, making it a rustic yet charming spot to rest while exploring the rugged beauty of the Southern Alps. This is a very steep and slippery hike, and should not be attempted unless you are a very experienced hiker.
