Qaqortoq, formerly known as Julianehåb, is a lively city in southern Greenland with a population of 3,050 as of 2020. It's the largest town in southern Greenland and boasts a rich history dating back to prehistoric times. From Saqqaq culture to Norse settlements, Qaqortoq has seen it all. The town is famous for its artistic flair, with unique sculptures adorning the streets thanks to the Stone & Man project. With no roads connecting it to other places, Qaqortoq relies on boats and helicopters for transportation. Plus, don't miss the oldest fountain in Greenland, Mindebrønden, depicting whales spouting water – a must-see for tourists!
