Haga is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Gothenburg, and here it - almost literally - feels like time has stood still. The cobblestone streets are lined with preserved wood-sided buildings that house restaurants, shops, and cafes.

Spend the afternoon browsing antique shops and kitschy clothing stores, and then head into one of the cafes for a famous gigantic cinnamon bun and coffee. I'm not kidding when I say the cinnamon buns are the size of your head. Café Husaren is the most famous spot to try one, but you can find them at many cafes.

Haga is also a great spot to indulge in Gothenburg's catch-of-the-day. I've eaten fresh fish at Sjöbaren in Haga and can really recommend it.

If you're looking to learn more about the history of Haga, I'd really recommend taking a guided tour. I've linked a recommendation below!
